Love, Hoffbrau Steaks Style
I tried so hard to find just one winner. I should have guessed….Hoffbrau Steaks has the greatest fans. I had to go with a….pair.
The romance of a great steak dinner (it’s rare to get one well-done) was too much to pass up. It’s probably the five months since Valentine’s day that tempted me.
Any way you cut it…I am so proud to share our “love stories” with you. Last week we began a contest on Facebook for the best “meeting” story. Without further ado, let me thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone who entered. It’s been the greatest week! (Maybe not for the Mr…..I demanded flowers and a date night tomorrow to commemorate our Luby’s encounter). There were so many incredible stories. It’s never been so hard to give away the world’s best steak dinner.
Lovebirds come in 2′s, don’t they?
I just couldn’t choose. I hope you enjoy Julia and David’s stories of love as much as I did the 1st time I read them. Being in love is written all over David Bast’s story.
“We met at a Texas Tech summer school in Junction, Texas, 25 years ago. I was taking an ornithology class (study of birds) and she was taking a field science class. One of her activities was bird watching. She spied me thru her binoculars! A night out dancing followed soon after.”
In the spirit of my contest, I couldn’t resist the “online” allure of Julia Lilly’s story. We might also have to get some of her home-cooked recipes. They appear to be real “winners!”
We met online!
My husband and I liked each other in junior high and as young love goes we were scared to death to say a word to each other. Eventually I moved to another school, but I always thought about that cute boy I liked
in junior high. 20 years later, while searching social media sites I came across my husband’s picture and instantly remembered that handsome smile. I sent him an email… After only a couple of dates I asked him over for a home cooked meal. While I was getting everything prepared I told him to pull out our old annual from the book shelf so we could look through it. I when I came to join him I found him laughing at the page with his picture. I forgot that 20 years ago I had circled his picture with a big multi-colored hearts and stars. He didn’t run for the hills….
The whole Hoffbrau family thanks you for sharing your lives with us!
P.S. The flowers were here today..lillies! Mr.Fogiel says I can have ANY steak I want…at Hoffbrau. Apparently, I win too!
